Does fiber lower colon cancer risk?

I was reviewing a few research studies and it appears that higher fiber intake can lower the risk of colon cancer.

The research is mixed, but I’d personally aim to get more fiber as some studies showed a reduction in cancer with the highest fiber intakes.

What’s one of the mechanisms?
Fiber is consumed by the good bacteria in our colon producing short chain fatty acids such as butyrate which helps to lower the growth of cancer cells.

Fiber may also help us feel more full leading to improved weight loss outcomes.

Have a pickleball tournament later this morning, just a neighborhood event, but should be a fun way to get some exercise.

Hope you have a nice Sunday!
