Can we self sabotage when trying to lose weight, eat healthy and exercise? The answer? Yes. What is self sabotage? Self sabotage is acting in a way that is contrary to your goals. We can get self sabotaging thoughts in regards to health, weight loss, exercise, etc. A few examples include saying, ‘I don’t have time for exercise, journaling, eating healthy,’ etc.; an all or nothing/diet mentality; quitting instead of learning from slips and successes; skipping coaching sessions; saying: I’ll start Monday or after vacation or after the holidays; allowing challenging situations to derail you such as medical, stress, family situations, etc. The key is to recognize self sabotaging thoughts and not act on and ignore them, continuing to move towards goals. Have a healthy day!
