Not likely. Forget all or nothing diets and think following a process instead.
It’s a process and not one diet.
The process includes: setting goals, we create a plan to accomplish the goals, track data including objective and subjective measures, and modify plan as needed over time, with behavioral strategies, support and accountability to improve results. The plan is rooted in getting healthier, feeling great, losing weight and keeping it off.
A diet may be on or off, willpower or not, short term. Instead we learn from successes and slips to move towards our goals using continuous improvement over time instead of shame or blame.
We are striving to do the best we can, but I understand that perfectionism is not possible and rooted in the short term diet mentality and I forgive slips and mistakes and instead grow smarter and stronger from them.
Always moving towards my goals, improving all the time…
I have lost and kept off 30 lbs despite slips now and again that I learn from and strive to improve for next time. I forgive myself as I am human.
Have a healthy day!
