Taking action is a crucial step in the process of reaching your weight loss goals!
Taking action includes taking tiny action steps that take just a few moments or more such as self weighing, buying healthy food among others to achieve your goals.
Remember, it’s progress not perfection so you don’t have to take perfect action, just taking action towards your goals is a step in the right direction. People who lose weight and keep it off, take action and don’t push it off till Monday, next week, next month or next year. Remember, it’s not an all or nothing mindset that helps move us toward success. That may lead to yo yo dieting and weight regain. Instead, we move toward our goals using goal setting, tiny action steps, mini habits, and persistence.
Taking small action steps towards our goals compounds over time leading to big results. Think small action steps to get started and then the dominoes will start to fall.
Avoid acting on self sabotaging thoughts that discourage you from taking action such as ‘I don’t have time.’ Take tiny action steps to lower hurdles, when needing to complete or start any task. Use cues or prompts to get things rolling. For example, if I pull out the veggies from the fridge, I’ll make the salad. If put on my sneakers, I will take a walk, run or shoot a few hoops. When I pull up my food journaling app on my phone, I will journal my food. I may use reminders on my phone, schedule tasks in my calendar, or ‘post it’ notes to cue/remind me.
Take home? Take tiny actions steps towards your goals to see big results over time.
Have a healthy Day!
