Collecting data is a key part of the process to losing weight and keeping it off. Weight at minimum, but measurements such as abdominal or others as well.
I remember 17 years ago, I was working as the Dietitian for a group of medical clinics and brought my professional scale in for a weight loss program I was running. The scale they had was outdated and wanted accurate data.
The issue was I didn’t have another scale and didn’t weight myself for about 6 months.
I had an event and put my suit on for the first time in a while and could barely button my pants. Unknowingly, after weighing myself for the first time in a while, I had gained about 10 lbs!
How? My living situation and eating had changed a bit, but most importantly, I hadn’t weighed myself. Without that data, I couldn’t correct the weight gain until it had accumulated.
Lesson learned. Weigh myself regularly to stay on track, collect data and course correct if needed sooner rather than later.
I weigh myself typically daily and it works for me. If I am up, I want to know it and learn from it and correct it.
Have a healthy day!
